Being an athlete in competitive sports throughout her life, keeping a healthy back and strong core was imperative to continued sport and activity in her life. Pilates offered a cross training solution for her to learn proper body alignment and posture to develop a strong core. As a professor and educator for over 10 years, Maureen knew combining her passion for teaching and Pilates would be a natural and seamless progression. In 2018 Maureen opened Heartwood Pilates in Eugene, Oregon and attained a Full Studio Pilates Certification through Momentum Studio in 2019. Maureen relocated back to Portland, Oregon in 2020, attained a Level 1 and 2 MELT Method certification, and has enjoyed sharing her knowledge and expertise with her Portland clients!
